Our Services

We evaluate and treat a wide range of acute pain and chronic conditions, from headaches to spinal dysfunction (neck, thoracic/ribs and low back), to general hip, knee, foot and ankle pain. We also treat disorders of the pelvis, shoulder and elbow complex; facilitate post-operative healing and recovery; and address a number of sports-related injuries.

Our approach begins with a detailed one-on-one assessment. In addition to identifying risk factors associated with certain movement patterns that may be affecting your performance, we help you recognize and address the source of your pain, resulting in more complete and lasting improvement. We do this through a combination of one-on-one individualized orthopedic manual therapy, movement/pain education, motor control and neuromuscular rehabilitation. Whether you are young or old, experience acute pain or chronic persistent pain, a sedentary individual or an elite athlete, you will benefit from this approach.

All of our treatment sessions are conducted by a licensed physical therapist specializing in one-to-one orthopedic manual therapy. Treatment may include joint mobilization, myofascial release, soft tissue mobilization and/or neural mobilization. Treatment can also include proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), movement training and corrective exercise, mirror box/Recognise™, therapeutic taping, and an office/vocational ergonomic assessment. We have taken extensive course work in these areas and recognize the need for good “hands on” care.

We are conveniently located in midtown Manhattan. Your sessions will take place in one of our five private treatment rooms. We also have full access to a 10,000 square foot gym, which is fully equipped with a 35 yard four lane indoor sprint track, a 25 yard football turf field and a full Olympic weight training area.

I tried going to a major rehabilitation center, but was not making any progress. Once I started at Velocity Physio, I began to feel much better and had better range of motion. The “hands on” approach works well.
